The forecast wasn’t very promising for the day ahead, with heavy rain and possible thunder storms predicted, but as ever we didn’t let that dampen our spirits.
We had 13 cars booked to attend and everyone arrived in good time to arrange an excellent display of all three marques, which included 3 cars on display with new owners: Rob Beevers’ silver Mk3, Bob and Glenys’s black Mk3 and mine and Catherine’s silver sonic Mk2.
Entering the arena over the afternoon we won 3 awards: 1st place 1980 class for Ian Howe, runner-up modified and custom for Dave Hall and 1st place Sports and Convertibles for me, so a fantastic result for our first outing.
Jean looked after us as always, cooking sausage and bacon baps to keep us warm as it was a little chilly. We packed up slightly earlier than usual, just before the rain arrived. We said our goodbyes whilst looking forward to the National Event next weekend.
