Once again the Japanese Auto Extravaganza (JAE) returns to the East of England Showground at Peterborough from Friday 31st August to Sunday 2nd September and for the first time the MR2 Drivers’ Club will be joining forces with the International MR2 Owners Club (IMOC) and GT86 Drivers Club to put on a combined club stand!
This is not your average car show – this one is more about the people than the cars!
JAE has been running since the 1990’s, as a car show dedicated to all Japanese vehicles here in the UK. What brings us together is a love for Japanese cars, but we enjoy so much more at the JAE show – from a friendly quiz evening with friends, to the crazy Cosplay competition (see below), it’s not just about the cars. Come along for the cars, but stay for the entertainment.
This year, same as last year’s show, all tickets are e-tickets. IMOC-UK will purchase tickets through the portal in bulk for members, . This will secure you a space on the Club stand, with camping, and also save you the hassle of doing it yourself!
Tickets are priced per person and will entitle you to the following:
- Entry to the show and all it has to offer
- A place for your car on the Club stand
- A place for your tent adjacent to the Club stand
- Access to the Club marquee, power & lighting included
- Free use of the Club supplied BBQs, just bring your own food to cook
- Saturday night Hog Roast (small donation requested)
- Lots of fun and laughs!
Tickets are available now, and are priced at £45 for whole weekend. We are asking for a small contribution towards the Hog Roast of £4 per person.
As stated on the JAE website ONLY advance ticket holders will be able to park and stay on the Club stand. There is an additional charge of £20 per person if you pay on the gate rather than book in advance….and you will have to park in the general car park.
Children under the age of 12 get free entry to the event….and dogs are welcome too!
Cosplay
Each year, the Saturday night of the show sees all the clubs come together in Cosplay fun! We have a theme and this year we are asking everyone to get creative and inventive with a ‘Gnome’ theme. Costumes can be picked up quite cheap on eBay or Amazon, or you could have a go at making your own.
We really to have some great fun doing this, and past themes have included, ‘ A Very British Affair’, ‘Japanese’ and ‘JurassIMOC Park’ with 23 inflatable T-Rex running around causing havoc! We have also had a very successful history with winning the ‘Best Club Stand’ trophy 3 times, and the ‘Best Club Activity’ last year with our dinosaur effort!
So…dust off your sleeping bags, pack your tents and chairs, and come and join the JAE fun!
