Come rain or shine, we never fail to put on a great display. It was pouring with rain as Dave, Shirley, Catherine and myself arrived at the May Queen Field to set up our pitch and as we had a good central position we could display the cars to their best advantage.
It was good to welcome members from the North Midlands, Bryan and Grace Elliot, Steve and Anne Loffman and Leon Howell who joined us for the day. We also welcomed new member Chris Bailey and his partner Tracey.
Rob Beevers and Janet Nield arrived next in their respective cars, then Jean Murray, Nik Milford and Mike Jackson, followed by Brian Flanagan and we had a good mix of colours and Mk1’s 2’s and 3’s.
It was a busy day, as all the village had come out to see the many different side shows and interesting features all around the streets and also on the canal – despite the weather!
At the end of the day the sun shone and it was very rewarding to be presented with 1st place Best Car Club Display at the Lymm Historic Transport Day.
