Sunday Lunch at The Swan Inn, Bucklow Hill
We had a tremendous response from our members for this month’s Sunday lunch following our New Year break. So much so that the space we had originally booked for the lunch wouldn’t accommodate us all, so we reserved 3 extra tables in the main restaurant which was adjacent to the balcony area. This meant that things were a little fragmented, but none the less we circulated between the many tables and we all had a chance to chat to each other without causing disruption to other diners. As always, the staff were really good to us.
The construction work of the new link road A556 and M56 spur have now been completed, so it was a much easier drive than it had been previously while all the major road works were taking place, making it a pleasant drive.
Making up the group were David and Linda, Ian and Viv, Jean and Sky, Glenys and Bob, Brian, Moe and Les, Nik, Pete and Cody, Mike and Ann, Dave and Shirley, Rob and Janet, Chris and Tracy, Catherine and myself. We were pleased that our recent member Mark Morris was able to join us, along with Ron Booth who joined the Club only the previous evening! Also Lee and Helen Botham called in to have a chat and see what we were about.
We discussed the events for 2018 and who might be available to attend the various shows, with eager anticipation for the season ahead.
